Jackson, Wyoming

Am headed to Jackson WY for a week in early August. Any ideas on where to recharge after a day of hiking/biking?

I have never eaten there myself, but I have some friends who love the Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse.

I ate 2 big meals out while I was there last fall (I was staying with friends so we had a lot of meals at home): Teton Steakhouse and The Blue Lion, both good and chosen by a local. But be forewarned: nothing's cheap in Jackson. We ate Dutch and the bills came to $20 at the Steakhouse, $64 at The Blue Lion, just for me.

On the other hand, there's THIS to make up for the cost:

Mboy1, welcome to Roadfood. The Jackson area is BEAUTIFUL. Enjoy the scenery, eat to get by. I enjoyed the snow skiing and snowmobiling to the point I almost forgot to eat!

A couple of my favorites were Billy's Burgers and Jackson Drug for an excellent milk shake. They are both right on the town square.

    and a burger from Billy's

For before you hike I loved Jedediah's House of Sourdough. Amazing pancakes.

Thanks for all the great responses! There's a group of us going out there - one of my friends is a caterer, so we eat well, but always have room to sample some of the local fare!

"The Bird", a few miles south on route 89. Funky place with a great view and one of the best burgers you will ever eat.

It's probably not there anymore as it was 1981, but some of the best Mexican food I've ever had was at an Italian place in Jackson named Mama Bears.  Really!
