Here's a few places to stop and rest on I  95.
When you get to Jacksonville, FL on I 95 get off at Exit 353 C on W Union St. and go about 8 blocks to Pearl and take a left to Jenkin's Quality BBQ which is home owned by the Jenkins' Family for over 50 years. Get off I 95 at Exit 373 and go W to Callahan's BBQ.

    Jenkin's Quality BBQ @ 830 North Pearl Street, Jacksonville, FL 904 - 353 - 6388.

A great choice by Littleman of Sunbury Crab Co. If you are traveling by canoe this may help.

While in Cooperstown, be sure to have breakfast or a burger at the Cooperstown Diner.  Extremely small place, usually a long wait in the "On" season.

Need to add B&Js Steak and Seafood on HWY 17 in Darien,GA to the list. I had lunch on Thursday. The small 1/2 lb basket of fried shrimp contained 21 beautifully breaded GA shrimp with fries and texas toast for 12.95. What no hush puppies? It was a wonderful lunch. About 3 miles off of I-95 and people were pulling in from all points most of them saying they had been eating there for years and years. I have found a new lunch stop when in the area..

Be sure to schedule a stop at the Oomergang (sp?) brewery not far from the ball fields where your son will be playing - good Belgian style ales. There's a good hot dog joint  near the same fields - I forgot the name. the Fenimore museum is worth a stop to pick up some culture, and, I'm sure you will be visiting the Hall of Fame and the Farmer's museum.

The diner is a good bet, The Otsego Hotel is good, pricey, and sometimes requires reservations. The rest of the food is chancy - we've rarely had a good meal, and suffered some awful meals in Cooperstown.
Not far away, in Oneonta, NY s a great chicken BBQ - the name escapes me...

Before you go to the Hall of Fame you might want to read a new book, Baseball In The Garden of Eden, John Thorn - this will either enhance or ruin your visit, depending on your point of view. Thorn totally destroys the myth of Abner Doubleday and Cooperstown in the birth of the game.

    Cheers, John
