Jersey Mike's And/Or Jimmy Johns??? Fri, 01/16/09 6:52 PM (permalink)
I just moved to the Seattle, WA area, and would like to try a new sub shop this weekend.  I discovered we have both Jersey Mikes www.jerseymikes.com and a Jimmy Johns www.jimmyjohns.com ........do any of you have experience with these chains.....and would you recommend them?  I became familiar with Jersey Mikes through Travel Channel's Sandwich Paradise.  Any input is greatly appreciated!!

I've never had Jersey Mike's, but I have been to Jimmy John's a number of times. Definitely an improvement over Subway ( better ingredients, IMHO ), but still nothing to get real excited about. You can do worse though ( like I said, Subway. )

Jersey Mike's is very good for a chain.  We have 2 here in Topeka, and I prefer them to the local Jimmy John's.  Both are better than Subway, though.

Thanks!  Ended up not going out this weekend, but will have my son with me next weekend, and he's a sub lover as I am, we'll have to try Jersey Mikes.

Considering the fact that you have Salumi in Seattle, why not buy the extraordinary meats and cheeses from there and make your own?

Lol, living in a hotel room, with no way to cook....I do enjoy my sandwiches at least lightly toasted:)  Planning on Salumi being one of my first visits once I'm settled in though.l

The one in Point Pleasant, which is (sort of) the original, is exceptional.  I've had less luck at the others, especially as you get farther from the shore it seems.
