No,no, no Michael, he was the brother of the sisters, who sang on Lawrence Welk!

John Lennon with the Beatles = great
John Lennon solo = message music
I've never done & never will do message music.

Come on. I know Welk was an orchestra leader.

I have to disagree slightly. Yes, some of his songs were outright message music, and annoy me. I'm thinking "Give Peace a Chance," "Power to the People," "Merry Christmas, War is Over."

But most of his post-Beatles music, at least the big hits, are still very satisfying. The entire Imagine album stands up after all these years. The melodies and singing are beautiful. Same holds true with his finale, Double Fantasy. No message music on that one. Just songs about love - "Starting Over;" family "Beautiful Boy" and the importance of not taking oneself too seriously "Watching the Wheels."

He also had some great singles, some of which had a political theme (Instant Karma), and others that didn't, but continue to move me every time I hear them, (Mind Games, #9 Dream.")

I was 9 when Lennon was shot, so I missed the whole Beatles thing. I can only imagine what he might have done in the last 30 years had he lived. I honestly think the world might be a different place.

He's not 70. He's Dead. Your age stops when you "Stop".
Now Elvis, he's 75 and living in Kalamazoo MI.
