Ate at a Johnny Rocket's recently...and thought the burger they brag about so much was average....Nice malt shop of the 40's atmosphere...but except for my chocolate malt...food was average!!

Lee, Johnny's is just one of those places that it's all about the atmosphere and a quick bite to eat. it goes with your thread about gimmicks to get people in to eat

I agree...prices can be pretty steep also. We had a family of 4 stop by and it was over $60.00!

I ate at a McDonalds over the weekend and it had 37 LCD televisions. I mean, what in the world?! A stupid gimmick.

What I find odd about JT's is all milkshakes are made using vanilla ice cream. OK for a vanilla shake, but IMO, a strawberry shake made with vanilla ice cream just doesn't make it. Burgers are OK - not bad / nothing special.

Agreed about Johnny Rocket's...underwhelming and overpriced. If I'm going to pay that much for a burger, I'll hit up one of the Cheeburger Cheeburger locations here in SW Florida.

Ya know, sometimes though,my nostalgia gets the better of me,and I want that old malt shop...and the girls looking like the Andrews Sisters smiling down at us from the posters on the wall...my kids love having the smiley faces made on the plate with ketchup...and the coins they are given by the waitress to put in the record player...and of course the old fashioned straw holder and dispenser...it is a trip back in time that is almost impossible to find today...so average burgers can take a back seat to my family's fun!!!

Royal Caribbean has some Johnny Rockets on their cruise ships. They are so popular, that they had to put on a cover charge to limit the lines. Imagine, you pay all that $$$ for a great cruise with very good food, and you are spending your time in a JR line.(lol) I like JR, but not enough to stand in a long line!!! I have posted, in the past, about the JR at a local mall that I go to once in a while. They do a good job when they have good help.
