I need help as the food choices out here in the burbs leave much to be desired. I've been to Tic Toc and they have a good burger, but I need more greasy style food stops. Where can I find the good cheese steaks, burgers, pizza and Mexican. You know the basics. Thanks for any assistance as the adjustment has been tough food wise. Goodness, I miss late night take out. Thanks!

Thanks! Dude you live in Clifton. Clifton has a ton of places to eat. First I know you didnt list hot dogs but you have to visit Rutt's hut for Deep fried dogs. Pizza you have to visit neals at 57 Harding Ave. For burgers I would go to maybe 6 brothers. You didnt list wings but you have to visit this hole in the wall sharkey. It's a small bar but have the best wings around. Mexican go to El Mexicano Restaurant on 1293 Main Avenue. Also on main st you will find a bunch of local places that are great I cant come up with their names. Hope this is a start for you.

It ain't greasy but it's good... ...that being the nearby Polish bakery items (including their delectable poppy seed roll) at the Polonia Bakery in neighboring Passaic (204 Monroe Street, 973 / 471-3485).

I just went to El Mexicana. The wings and quesadilla's were awesome. The enchilada's were ok. The margarita's were outstanding. I should have listed wings, so thanks for the reco. As I was going through the site I saw Rutt's pop up alot so I will be checking it out post haste. I've never had a deep fried hot dog, it sound right up my alley though. I'm from Cincy originally and my favorite place growing up to eat was Skyline so this could work out, I never knew Jersey was a dog place. Thanks again.

Will definitely be checking Corrado's. I will say Clifton has a ton of grocery stores. I live near Van Houten closer to Passaic, is there anything dynamite on Van Houten? I really love cheese steaks sandwiches, any reco's?

<<I really love cheese steaks sandwiches, any reco's? >> It's been a few years since I was there, but I had a real good cheesesteak at Charlie Bloods tavern in Garfield. Very local, old-school tavern. The original owner was a boxer in the 1930's who was known as Charlie Blood. It's still owned by his family: http://www.charliebloods.com/ Another place you might want to try is the Orange Lanten in Paramus. I love thier wings but I'll bet thier cheeseteaks are good too. Very large blue collar tavern, people have mixed opinions about this place, but I happen to like it very much. Any time I've been there the service has always been competent and friendly and the food has been great bar food. http://www.orangelantern.com/index.html

Update..... I still need a CHEESE STEAK SPOT!? Please help me, I need that greasy goodness. I also have yet to find a great sandwich/deli that has really good breads for thier hero's. I have found Awesome wings and Pizza at Mario's Pizzeria. The wing sauce is home made and unusually unique and good. The Pie speaks for itself, the cheese they use is oh so good. I seem to keep going back to El Mexicana for excellent wings, burgers, and Marg's. The flautas and quesadilla are also good. Mario's and Tic Toc are also very good. The Peter Lueger burger at Tic Toc is legit. I really need to broaden my restaurant visitations any and all help is appreciated.
