K. LaMay's vs. Ted's vs. The Lunchbox (Meriden, CT)

I will be passing through Meriden, CT this Friday, and will have one chance to try a steamed cheeseburger. Which of these three should I stop by?

None of the other items (choice of soda) is a factor: it's all about the burger.

Scott_R, thanks for asking!  It's an easy question -- for me, at least: if you hit Meriden by 3 p.m., head to the Lunchbox and tell Anita that Roadfood sent you (she closes at 3).  After 3 p.m., head to K. LaMay's.  When we went with Michael recently, the Lunchbox won that day.  Both places are great, staffed by nice folks who are very interested to hear that you read the Roadfood review.  Anita told us, "You don't know how much your review means to our business!"    Chris

    I'll be by around 1.
The thing that piqued my interest in K Lamay's is that the burger is 1/3 pound. Not that I want quantity, but I do like the texture of a thicker burger. OTOH, that doesn't say anything about the quality of the meat.
