I managed to print those coupons from Oprah. Let's see how the grilled chicken tastes when it's free. Thanks VuduHippy. And thanks to Oprah.

I printed them out and plan to get lunch on Oprah today. I can say that I was going through the KFC/Taco Bell drive thru, intending on getting Taco Hell and saw the Grilled meal. I got this for myself and Taco Smell for everyone else. Got it home and thought there must have been some sort of mistake....The chicken....Oh man, I've never in my life seen something so tiny. Really. It was unreal. It was tasty, once you got past the skin. Not the best, but better than I expected for a thigh that was smaller than the palm of my hand. *shrug* I'll get today, free, but I won't be paying for it again.

I owed a coworker lunch and she chose KFC, so I took the opportunity to try the $4.99 2-piece grilled chicken special (thigh & drumstick). With 2 sides, a biscuit, and a drink I thought it was a reasonable value for $5 and it didn't leave me hungry. To me the pieces seemed to be about the same size as those from one of those rotisserie chickens that're popular in grocery stores. It's worth mentioning that we got there at 11am and the lunch rush hadn't started yet. My chicken was hot and not tough or chewy so I'm pretty sure that it was fresh and hadn't been under the warmer, and that probably made a difference. It was juicy and didn't taste excessively salty or otherwise "strange", and if I found myself in a situation where food choices were limited it'd be an option. Brad

susanll KFC has stirred up controversy down here. They are not offering the grilled chicken in any of the Memphis stores only out in the suburbs. People are making the assumption that KFC views Memphis a fried chicken only populus. Just read an artical in the Memphis Commerical Appeal that the person that owns all of the KFC franchises said the cost of putting grills in all of the KFC would cost thousands of dollars for each site and it would cost too much? People that have tried the chicken is it really grilled?

People that have tried the chicken is it really grilled? In my opinion, it seems to be baked with grill marks "added" to the chicken after it's cooked. At my local KFC you can see right into their kitchen area and I see, in plain sight, a counter top (restaurant style) panini press. It's the exact same panini press used at a restaurant I used to manage (That's how I knew what it was). The chicken is more than likely baked and the "grill marks" added via the panini press. John

I heard on the radio yesterday that people were standing on line for 1-2 hours to get their free 2-piece KGC meal.

I had it one time, before the rush. I liked it, it was good, not fantastic, not great, but it didn't suck. Again though, this is a chain, and in an area with a higher turnover, the chicken is likely to be fresher. I liked it as well as their fried chicken. Again, not a huge fan of fried chicken. I think it is more pressed than grilled. I have no interest in what peta has to say. I have been dealing with people like them my entire life, as my father is a former Navy man, and their people would be screaming about how these people were killing innocents, when, ummm.....the subariners were just going out to sea. My former brother in law also worked for a pig farm, and I know from experience how the pigs are treated. Yep, there has been a LOT of bad treatment of animals throughout the years. Again though, I have personally never killed an animal or hurt a human knowingly, but when I was 9 a PETA member threw animal blood on me because I was going to the base to see my father off to sea. That member was at least 20 years old, I was obviously a child, and I don't give a damn about anyone with excuses, I was not the only child treated that way based on how our fathers made a living. So......I eat meat, and I do not judge anyone on what they eat, and I believe in the ideology of 'do what thou wilt, and harm none'.

Hello All, I finally tried the grilled chicken, and it wasn't bad. I usually have problems with KFC chicken, because of the greasiness. But I liked this. Take Care, Fieldthistle

Yes, TINY !!! I got the "2 wing" special for $3.99 last night at the drive thru... all the hype, I had to test it out.. came with mac and cheese and cole slaw... those were the 2 TINIEST wings I've EVER seen in my whole 49 years! And they came in a huge black plastic deep dish container, which made them look even smaller, (if that was possible!!) taste was decent, though (whatever I COULD taste)

nocarolina "Unuring"??? This is just sad and pathetic. Way to go, American education system. My 6 year old son finishing Kindergarten might spell it like that. Actually he would probably spell it "Onuring" , heh. Admittedly, his handwriting is not quite that good yet and he would probably have crossed out at least one letter somewhere and added a different one.
