It seems like alot of people are taking the humor a little too serious. If theatening others in open chat is supposed to be funny it isnt. Especially when one doesnt say which person he/she is talking about. That isnt right. Once we all lose our sence of humor its over. For the record it is impossible to offend me...Russ

No but I have learned that sometimes people take things way out of context. They dont see the humor. Especially in a chat about Ketchup. I havent tilted playing Holdem in 25 years. Tilting in a chat room is impossible...Russ

Last time I got upset about food was when the menu read Bay Corn and they substituted it for Baby Corn. I threw the Baby Corn at the wait staff....Russ

I put Trader Joe's Green Olive Tapanade on mine, then pile on the pan fried onions. To hell with the usual stuff.

I like having the freedom to pick what I put on a hotdog, I don't want to have to be locked into only using certain toppings. Sometimes I feel like mustard, chili and onions. Sometimes ketchup, mustard and onion, or just a good relish. I think that if you like it and it tastes good then it works. Pam

Now that is fast on the draw Don!!! And, that ketchup looks good! Good one about the Bay Corn Russ! :~) You have joined the ranks as a true Bay Corner. This thread goten so silly that it has been kicked out of the hot dog section, and has now been moved to the "lighter fare" area. Joe

I think it is unreal that so many people care enough about this stupid forum to keep posting. Like who cares what anyone puts on their hot dog?

Hey, thanks for bringing this back up Greymo! Hey, I came up with a new recipe from this thread. A ketchup mayo mixture w/ pickled jalapeno juice to spice things up, with the option of some finley chopped pickled jalapenos, for those who like things a bit spicier. I like my new hot dog sauce but I want to see what my guiney pigs think about it. If they like it... it's a weiner! Back in 1995, so those hungry munchers could eat and run up and down the neighborhood, I came up with the idea to wrap a sausage with in flour tortilla. Now look what happened with that idea! If you can think of it... someone will wrap it! In 20 years my new sauce could be the standard topping for a "Texas Style Hot Dog". Mustard on a Texas dog... no way Jose! :~) Joe

Considering ketchup is essentially half sugar / half water, why even bother? I don't even use it on fries, but then again I avoid frozen potato products whenever possible. I can see where it might be required on such. I'll pick up a few ketchup packets at fast food places to use on an occasional home grilled burger, but never on a hotdog. Haven't bought a bottle of ketchup in perhaps 20 years, although we do buy / use some BBQ sauce on pork chops & chicken.

So if you have lemons, and you throw them in the ketchup- you would get lemonade!

What was that ketchup that used to have pineapples in it? Joe Oh, there are some great recipes mixing Hunt's w/ that pineapple ketchup. I learned all this right here at Roadfood! :~)

quote:Originally posted by PapaJoe8 Joe, sounds like you will soon also be an aggie fan! You will have a great time visiting that area. I love the Bob Hall Pier at N. Padre. It's just around the corner. And, no one would dare put ketchup on their hot dog anywhere near there! Joe Pappajoe, Just got back from Corpus. Tough place to get good RoadFood. I stopped by Bob Hall pier. Nice beach, but my daughter wasn't into the whole restaurant/bait shop thing so we never ate there. Also at Texas A&M C. C. they are know as the Islanders not Aggies Thanks Again, Joe See and you thought this thread was finished.

Glad you made it back safe and sound Joe! OK, Islander it is then. Is her decision final? It's the folks fishing off the pier that I get a kik out of. And, no tellin what they might catch? They just had chips and stuff last time I was in the bait shop. Or, they might have had some dogs and burgers? Yep, eating at a bait shop is not for everyone. There was a seafood place on the lagoon, on the way from Corpus to Padre, Padre Island Dr., that I liked. You can see it from the road. Snoopy's I think?. You can sit outside and smell the salt air. Joe Yep, they moved this thread way down here but it keeps coming back to life. That's because ketchup on a hot dog is no laughing matter! :~) Joe

Its crunch time. Its either A&M or Bloomsburg, Pa. I'll let you know. I think what scared her most at the pier were the fishermen. That and the smell. We saw Snoopy's from the causeway, Maybe next time. We tried Bill Millers for Q: Not that good. City Diner: It was alright. La Playa for Mexican: Great service, food was not very good. Niko's Steak House: Very good beef and reasonable prices. The best meal came at our lay over in the Houston Airport. Papa's Q, related? My only real regret was not stopping for a Whataburger.

Joe, I wish I was related to those Papa's! Whataburger is a must stop for one of my friends who now lives out of Texas. In Texas I think jalapeno ketchup might be OK on almost anything? Joe
