If your friends would like something away from downtown, Martha's Steaks and Seafood Restaurant, out on S. Roosevelt Blvd (near the airport) is very nice. It's right on the Atlantic Ocean, and they have aquariums in the place.

Probably not quite as expensive as Louie's Backyard. And they have a piano player.

Linda and I enjoyed it on a trip to Key West at the time of our anniversary. (Not roadfoody, but very friendly, good service).

These are good suggestions and I would add..

Nine One Five A fairly new one on Duval (near Truman) lots of small dishes (tapas) good wine list

7 Fish Really fresh and low key (my favorite and in my neighborhood)

Antonia--great Italian they make everything from scratch

        Square One--quiet,nice piano playing,always good,romantic

It can be a little expensive here in KW these days but the better places are worth it. Know that March is crazy here--lots of spring breakers.

If you are feeling really flush--so all the way and go to mile marker 20 or so and dine at Little Palm Island which is Very expensive but incredibly good. You take a little boat out there. They do lunch if dinner is too high.

Also, Cafe Sole on Southerd is sweet, French. Great people.
        Have fun

"Blue Heaven" is excellent! Very romantic back yard courtyard area w/ live music and excellent food. Prices were reasonable as I recall...from last year (Oct. 2004).Key West is where it's at. Now if I could figure out how to put a link in here I would! Blue heaven has a website!Happy eating!
