Kobyashi....AGAIN!

Yep, I just watched the Nathan's hot dog eating contest again. Kobyashi wins it again, but alas! young Joey Chestnutt was not far behind. As a matter of fact Joey had the lead twice. I have to admit it was very exciting to see a good American contender give Kobyashi a good run. I hope to see Mr. Chestnutt again next year, I think Kobyashi was actually sweating it this time! Good job Joey.

I think they both had "good runs" about four hours after the contest.

Kobayashi, who we all thought had topped out on how many hod dogs he could consume, had to beat the world record (which he owned) to win it. Joey Chestnut downed 52 hot dogs (a new American Record) with Kobayashi winning with 53 3/4.

Also, the "Black Widow," Karla Thomas, ate about 46 or so to claim 3rd place. She was actually pushing Chestnut. That was her personal record, too.

Sonya Thomas ate 37. Next I hope Joey takes care of this contest. Last year he only at 32. This year he added 20 to that total! That's insane. If he can add half of that next year, he's got it.

Kobayashi. . . is his last name Mauru?
