Kraft Roka Blue Cheese... not dressing, in the tiny jars.

Kraft Roka Blue Cheese... in the tiny jars is great stuff. It's thick, and not like a salad  dressing. It's getting hard to find though.

Since I posted this in the recipe section here are a few things I like this stuff for:

Just spread it on a Club Multi Grain cracker.

Dip some of those little peeled carrots in it.

Eat it w/ some good hot wings.

Any more ideas?
Joe

Oh... when I find a jar I plan to use it, mixed w/ some 80/20 ground chuck, for a great "blue cheese burger dog" ! :~0

I used to love that stuff. It was always in a basket on the end caps of the store.
An impulse buy. Your right I haven't seen it in sometime. On occasion I would mix in some horseraddish or chopped garlic to spark it up some. Great for stuffed celery then top with red roasted peppers or pimentos.
The glass jar makes for a nice wine glass, but my favorite wine glass is a Welches grape jelly jar with the Roadrunner on it. It's a bit larger and I've had it for years. Chow Jim

    Thanks for the tips Jim!

I think this is still made by Kraft... Just hard to find.

And LOL... we saved those glasses also. The Roka made a good juice glass.

We used to love the olive & pimento. Those were nice little juice glasses!

Our grocery store still has them, they keep the Velveeta with the parmesan cheese in the green can on the same shelf & the little jarred cheeses are there.

I thought when I was a kid (late 70's) they were refrigerated, but I could be wrong about that?

I rather like the actual CHEESE! Kinda crumbly, but who needs all that mayo, since the cheese is already greasy enough for me.

I've actually never even HEARD of this stuff, but I'm googling it!

Mich, this stuff is not mayo based. I am not sure how they make it??? It IS good on crackers though.

I like real blue cheese also.

If I remember right (it's been 9 years since I worked the dairy department) Kraft Roka Blue was primarily Kraft blue cheese and Philadelphia cream cheese.  I don't remember the other ingredients, but I would assume there were milk solids and/or whey to make it smoother and more easily spreadable, though it was "stiffer" than Philadelphia "soft" cream cheese spreads.  Kraft used the name "Roka" to imply it contained Roquefort cheese, but there was only domestic blue cheese in it, no imported Roquefort.

I haven't tried the Roka Blue, but I've been eating Old English Cheese Spread in the same 5-oz. jars since I was a kid.  And I still love it.  The Kraft Product Locator tells me I'll have to drive 25 miles to buy the Roka Blue, but I'm gonna try it.

The product locator works well, but you have to type in the name Roka Blue, because not all products are listed in the pull-down.

Thanks 6star! Cream cheese makes sense.

Mellow, yep I like the Old English also. It is easier to find than the blue. You should have lotsa empty jars by now! :~) And, I'll try that locater link, thanks!

I grew up eating the bottled dressing, have NEVER heard of the jarred.  I did a product search for my area and seems as though all of our Publix stores carry it.  Can't wait to try this, I could drink the dressing from the bottle!  Okay so I'm exaggerating just a bit.  We save all of the dried beef jars...

Mellowroast, Thanks a Bunch!!! I love those spreads, and thanks to you, I found several stores in my area where Roka Blue and those other great jarred cheeses are sold.  I thought they were discontinued.  I'm going to get some today!
