DJ, anyone who names their business after their dog is destined to be a success. I named my business "Grateful Dog" after my 90 pound yellow lab, Trevor. Being a Deadhead was also a strong influence.
Best of luck to you. I know you'll do well. Your heart is in the right place for this business. Drop me an e-mail about your first day. I truly am excited for you.

well,,, LUCYS HOT DOGS has just finished its first week of business!!!!

things went well and i did much better than projected.
we are open from 11-3 mon-fri.
i was open until 4 on the first day, but that last hour was not worth staying open for.

already have return customers, and folks are happy to saee me there.
a bit more hours of work for prep, set up and teardown, but i an getting the rythm down and each day has been smoother than the previous day.
about 5-6 total hours a day.

selling about 35-50 dogs a day, with the average price $2.75 and add chips, sodas, and daily specials, and well,,,"BOW-WOW'' !!!

i am having a really fun time, and isn't that what this is all about.[besides making money]

Well, we made it to Eugene yesterday on the Northbound leg of our trip and it turned out to be a beautiful cool (having come out of the SoCal desert) day. My wife and I had two scrumptuous Oregon made hot dogs from Lucy's head chef. Thanks for the hospitality!

well after almost a month of dog business,,,,i can say that things are"dog gone good".

i have regular and returning customers, and with the use of a
buy 10 get one free" card, i am building a good base of customers.

sales are steadly going up,,,but the rain does have a bit of an effect on sales, though people still eat dogs, even in the rain. it is more the cold and wind that has an effect on business.

in july, i will be doing my first 2 day festival event.....should be interesting, logistically, estimating how much supply to have on site.

the "german shepard" dog,,,,with my special sour kraut, seems to be a good seller.
the ''chiwawa'', with cheddar, salsa and guacamole, is another good one.

the one thing that i want to figure out is, how to reduce the daily cost of ice, since it averages 4-5 dollors a day. [any thoughts]

so,,,,things are looking good so far and seems as though, with the best wheather ahead,,,,business will be wonderful !!!!!!!

Gallon jugs filled with water and frozen? Or cut the jugs in half and make half gallon blocks of ice.
