First of all, I cannot believe Jane and Michael came to Houston and did not invite me out to lunch!  Secondly, WHY did you go to La Mexican and not the best place in Houston - The Spanish Village?? La Mexicana does not even come close. The breakfast tacos are good, but everything else - not so much. Oh well. I will attest that the green sauce could take the hide off a mule though!

Although I've never been there, I did check out the menu online and it seems a bit expensive. They have a chile relleno plate with ONE chile relleno and rice and beans for $10.75. Even the expensive Mexican restaurants out here (LA) give you two chile rellenos!
