The tomato base looks a little thicker than I would care for but it looks like it would taste good, it has all the right components!

Close, I'll put my request in for a tortilla soup I had years ago in Merida.  A chicken broth base with a hint of lime...

Paella soup.

National Paella day is fast approaching.

Mar, the only drawback for me with Paella, is the damn clam shells wreak havoc on my teeth and gums!

You still have your teeth?

I'm rethinking the paella... wouldn't it just be gumbo with saffron?

Indeed, I've been a bit more fortunate than you, strong, perfect, incredibly white teeth for me, no falsies,  so to speak ....Gumbo would be much easier on you, evidentally, You should try Gumbo Mush, damn near drinkable...Hey Mar, you got a great sense of humor, keep it up, ...I'll try also!

Thanks, Chewey.  I should have figured that one out by your name.  Duh

Now, if you served gumbo mush you could get rid of the spoons and just use straws.

Ah, a palindrome, as in: Able was I ere I saw Elba.

Actually, that's not a bad idea about the soup. I often enjoy roasted groundhog, also known as roasted woodchuck and roasted whistlepig.

But please, not more than a pound of bacon per serving.

Damn groundhogs or whistle pigs.  I have had to have them trapped almost every year from building a home under my boat house.  I like to see them but they raid my garden and the last time, they made the beans look like a late winter frost hit them.  They were nothing but stems.  I paid a trapper a couple of big ones of remove them to a safe area.  Might have made a good BBQ?  Not for me!!!
