Laura's Candies

I've mentioned them before, but at the Christmas season when lots of people buy candy I want to give this place a boost because, well, they are in New Orleans (which I also want to boost), I've been a customer for years, and they make delicious candy.

Their web site is http://www.laurascandies.com/

As it says:
quote:
Our delicious Creole pralines and hand-made chocolates are made fresh daily in our French Quarter kitchen with recipes that date back to the 18th century. We also feature Laura's Creole and Cajun gourmet items for a taste of authentic New Orleans.

And their pralines really are killer--the best in town IMHO. But what I can't get enough of is called "Mississippi Mud":

quote:
Mississippi Mud is the chocolate that has made Laura's famous! Available in either creamy milk chocolate or dark gourmet chocolate, this treat is made with creamy homemade caramel and pecans on top, and then drizzled with more chocolate.

All I can say is "Oh, my! Oh, my!"

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I've made a resolution to try all the regional versions of Pecan Pralines ... this looks like one to go on the list!
