Thanks to those of you who have welcomed me back. To those who are unhappy about it, including the jadrool who downrated my post --

I entered jadrool in my computer's un-expurgated dictionary and came up with "could not be found".

I am still trying to find the button that will let me downgrade MH's opening post so I too can be a jadrool

Too late. I think it's just one customer to a downrate. But, hey, feel free to just attack me.

At least you got hit on a full stomach. Nothing worse than waiting for the police to never show up on an empty stomach.

Glad to hear that its only the car that suffered damage.

At least I hadn't eaten any pie. But that's just because I don't eat that stuff.

                    To Michael Hoffman, Himself

                    Michael me boy-yo

I could never bring meself to consider yerself as a curmudgeon--
who, according to Mr Webster himself--- is a crusty, ill-tempered old man --possibly a miser to boot.  Never.

Now take into consideration the definition of geezer------originally from Jolly ol' England where it meant a man who was self educated, one with craftiness or styleness.  Since it does not infer any age geezer must be preceded by the adjective---old to mean an old geezer.

I would think of you, sir, as a geezer and never a curmudgeon.  A Gentleman of craftiness and style---one who has done many things, and learned a little from them all.

From your latest episode you have probably learned never to stop in front of young people who are driving too fast on a wet road.   Instead, stay home, put your feet up and watch a few soaps and find out what life's all about, Alfie.

Haven't heard the term Jadrool from anyone since the late 40s when it had made its way from the Italian into mainstream American English and just as quickly disappeared. Anyway, Hoffman aint no jadrool, but he is a proud full blooded curmudgeon as evidenced by his posts here over the years.

                      Cheers, John

Good Grief, Michael, I am not sure if I can stand you being polite on this thread... I think it is one of the signs of the "Coming of the Last Days" from Notradamus.

Well, I just got my Tucson back -- thank God. (Driving a Chevrolet Impala felt as though my butt was dragging on the road all the time.) Amazingly (perhaps just to me) the total cost to the insurance company of the guy who hit me was $6,899.37 -- not counting the cost for the rental car.

Imagine that. I bought my bride a brand new 1966 candy apple red mustang convertible for just $2,700.
