Do you need a CDL for a food service truck?

What does something like that run? Looks real expensive. Isnt this sort of like a franchise deal? Do you think it will pay for itself? Have any business lined up? Why not put something like this together for yourself and save a bundle and not have to in reality be working for these people and sweating the payments?? just my opinion

I'm meeting with the owner of the company next week. I'm not ready to make a sizable investment in equipment until I see if it's a viable business so there's less risk in leasing to start. As I understand it, he has established routes you can take over and some form of "Protected Territory" arrangement. He has about 50-60 of these vans running around the Phoenix Metro area. Phoenix Metro is now the 5th largest in the country and still growing despite the economy. I'll publish a full report once I get the details. I was hoping someone in the Roadfood family would be familiar with this kind of business arrangement.

Wow.. What a large inventory youll have just at start up. Let alone the fact that many food items are single use(meaning few variations). It looks like it would be very inventory intensive for you. I take it that you will be required to carry his full menu from the site britt

Hello there , Make sure to find out how and why you would have a protected area . I would be skeptical if you have to put out a weekly or monthly payment for the truck , and pay for gas etc,. Also what would be the food arrangement , would you pay for it all up front and then hope to sell it . Lot of questions to ask . Benzee

Have looked, run some numbers, don't know. Looks funny. Maybe there would not even try here in big cities.
