Well we have at least two Hot Dog Restaurants in town, Detroit's Famous Coney Islands on Lane Allen Road and FRANKSville on New Circle Road at Industry Road. Kentucky is just not a hot dog state. Stopped in today at Franksville for the first time. It's an old Dairy Queen location, with a drive thru and a few tables and chairs for sit down inside. Very clean, no obnoxious music, friendly people. Get your all beef regular, jumbo or Polish dog fixed in Chicago, Coney Island, Kraut Dog, Slaw Dog, or Sloppy Dog style. (New one on me. Sloppy Dog is Chili and Slaw with mustard and onion) Buy a dog or a burger get fries for .35, real fries made from real potatoes home cut on site. They're good and greasy. Mmm not bad, with an upgrade to a better less greasy tasting oil they'd be be very good. Along with some malt vinegar on the side they would be really very good, that's a tecknikle term that means just below excellent. Big bag, enough for two if you're going to eat more than one dog. I had a Slaw Dog which comes with onions and mustard and, of course, slaw. The dog was good, firm, a water dog, boiled not grilled. Unfortunately the slaw was an out of the tub food service product. Well, you don't know till you try. Not bad. Just not good. Still for $3.00 with drink and 1 free refill, full 1 litre with refill. I intend to go back. I need to find out about the chili. I'm originally from Price Hill in Cincinnati, and you spell chili S-K-Y-L-I-N-E. jim

Yeah TJ, the great Cincinnati Chili debates. Skyline was closer. Price Hill Chili another classic and then of course, Camp Washington Chili. Bear, I'll ask 'em next time I'm there. They don't feature a sign that mentions a brand. I looked.

There's a hot dog place in downtown Lexington on Limestone called "Sam's Hot Dog Stand" that's been there for a long time and is very popular, especially with the lunch crowd. I always found them to be way better than the other hot dogs in town, and only rivaled by the dogs you can get at Parkette Drive-In on New Circle Road. The Parkette's been there since the 50's and their "Poor Boy Basket" is very good as well. Andrea
