Lexington, KY barbecue

I have a friend who recently relocated to Lexington (Kentucky, not North Carolina). Would like some suggestions on barbecue in town, other than the chain joints (Corkys, Famous Daves, etc). Thanks in advance.

Billy's BBQ is good. I always have a hard time finding it, but it's worth the trouble, IMHO.

yep billy's is pretty good for my money the highlights are the mutton [and thier sauce pairs particularly well with it] and the cheese grits, all creamy and dreamy the perfect compliment to mutton just went there wednesday with the inlaws [from kcmo] the only things i have found lacking there are the beans [of course after jackstack's beans....] and the burgoo

Billy's is good. Corky's is chain food nowadays. You can find Billy's near the intersection of Euclid and Tates Creek and the mutton IS worth the trip over. Red, Hot and Blue used to fair to middlin' and Woody's, over on Red Mile Rd was pretty decent, too. Summer brings out the gas station BBQ'ers and some of these folks do a mean rack of ribs.
