I just have to tell SOMEONE.

I have never been an activist, what people do is pretty much their own business unless it is in my backyard..

I moved into my home 4 years ago, at the end of my road, there are no homes, and people throw out there garbage there, We adopted our road about 2 years ago, got like 8 bags the first time we picked up the trash... Garbage builds like a magnet, since we have kept up on it the road stays much cleaner, although I still pick up quite a bit. about once a month...

top 5 garbage
1. Natural Light tallboy can

2. plastic red cup

3. Popeyes chicken boxes

4. whataburger stuff

5. tobacco products

All of the things people are slamming, and smashing into their face that they are not suppose to have before they get home for dinner...

So I worked for hours yesterday, I even went around the corner up the next street, filled my whole lawnmower cart.

I had a couple of foam boards at the house, so, I made a couple of signs regarding litterbugs, which were well thought out to not offend my extremely christian community
they said

"litterbugs are trashy"  and   " Is the litterbug proud of his mess?"  I put them out at about 7 pm last night.....BY 8 am this morning....I had a feeling...went and checked on them

THEY WERE GONE..someone stole my signs.....

I guess I struck a litterbug nerve....give a hoot don't pollute, dont be a dirty bird....the Crying Indian commercial is on Utube...I paid attention in the 70's..now I am ONE OF THOSE NEIGHBORS......

and YES, I was at dollar tree when they opened this morning, It rained all day, perfect day to make more signs...putting them High up in trees this time..

Paceflchik has it right about litter multiplying. The stuff breeds on itself, apparently litterbugs feel free to litter when they see a place that is already littered. After all, they must reason, no one cares about this place.

I live on a busy street only a block from our local college and If I don't pick up the litter on my sidewalk every day, it quickly multiplies. MCDonalds, exotic beer cans, power drinks, newspaper advertising sections, cigarette filters make up the bulk of the mess. We get about 100 recyclable bottles and cans per year - about $5.00 a year is my earnings for keeping my own sidewalk clean.

It is too bad it would be too costly to fingerprint the litter and bring some of these assholes to justice but I guess most of them are not in the data banks anyhow - and we do live in a free society.  Same with V&MM.

Failing that, have you considered contacting your county sheriff's office about littering. Here in my Ohio county they have an environmental court and a deputy sheriff who enforces littering laws.

If this community's values include despoiling their environment, violating local ordinances against littering, and stealing, I submit that this is not the type of Christian community that Jesus or his disciples might have envisioned.  Those local preachers would do well to attempt to instill some genuine Christian values in their supposedly devout flocks.

While that is essentially a good idea, given the values displayed by those locals, the camera would likely be the next thing that they would steal!

                            Littering here in Germany:

50,- to 150,- Euro for a Cigarette End...
250,- and up to 5000,- Euro for Hundescheisse (Dog ****)
Bulk Garbage on the Street, if not declared by yourself, between 1500,- and... (depends on the mess...)
Walking your dog without cord here..., 180,- Euro, etc., pp.

Besides Neo Nazis, Germany is "clean"...

                            Michael

P.S. "Parking" an old Car, even on your very own property, and you will be in deep trouble over here...

Micheal--we have LOTS of laws against littering here in the states--we just dont have enough ENFORCEMENT!!! I would have thought that with the hiogh fines that many states have for littering they would be smart to hire special litter cops. Naybe we should let the local county sheriffs keep the money for litter fines like they do with drug fines.

                                Greetings, tiki!

Not permitted Cars here in Germany must be either in an enclosed shelter, a somewhat "garage", or some collectors place. If not, these cars are removed within 8 weeks, and they are scrapped, okay to me.

"Hundescheisse" is a very BIG problem over here, the dog owners pay dog tax, but most of them do not take their dogs "legacy" with them back home, and put it in the own trashcan, they just let their dogs *****, they do not care at all.

Yes I have contacted the sherriff, they have a litter crew, but funding is cut of course, I have more signs they are going up in the trees this time.

There are fine for littering signs, people just don't care...I care...

as Dr. Phil says....don't be a Zero Be A HERO...LOL  so for now I will just keep on picking up the trash..

I would not call our german POLIZEI (Police) for such a mess, get together with your neighbours, talk all this out, there is for sure a reason, why one person in your neighborhood is messing your area...

Perhaps one of the very many compulsive hoarders, most of the very lonely, and sick people, help em, before calling the police, please!
