Little League Roller Grill Replacement

Hello, all. You certainly seem to be hot dog experts. I, however, am not. I'm just a mom who has agreed to manage our Little League concession stand this summer. When I took a look at the equipment, we have a hot dog roller grill that appears to be encrusted with rust. The notes left by the previous manager say to coat it with oven cleaner and scrub with wire brush. There's also a ton of icky grease left on it. I can't imagine our volunteers being too happy about cleaning in between each of the rollers every night. I'd like to replace it, but have not been able to find any information on choosing between a steamer and a roller grill. Our priorities are probably 1) ease of cleaning, 2) price, and 3) ability to heat the hot dogs quickly in case of a surge in demand. The roller grill we have now has about 10 rollers and is about 18 inches across. Any advice you can give me would be appreciated! We're also trying to decide whether to just stick to one type of hot dog or offer a variety - last year they offered four kinds and it looked like they were wasting a lot of meat.

Roller grills are actually easy to clean... I dont think I'd be scrubbing them with anything harsh like a wire brush. Most of them are teflon coated, the wire brush has probably destroyed it by now. Just turn the heat off, keep the rollers spinning and dampen them with a soapy sponge. After a couple minutes, use a clean sponge, with clean water to clean them. Pull out the bottom tray, wash it and your done! If you need to cook hot dogs in a hurry, just get a small propane gas stove and put a pot on it. Keep the water warm so if there's a rush you can bring it up to a quick boil. 3 minutes later the dogs should be done!

You may have to set aside time to just work on the crud that has been previously accumulated. How about sitting in a baking soda/vinegar bath for awhile? You have my deepest sympathies. I did my duty at the LL field concession stand at a baseball crazy town in NJ, and we had to boil the hot dogs (gross), fry the fries, mozzarella sticks and chicken nuggets, as well as sell the "airheads", and "big League chew", etc.
