Just got home from the 4th Annual NYC Cue Fest. Had some good stuff from Udon, Blue Smoke and Tabla (an interesting East Indian place across the street from Madison Park that sets up its own booth). Great weather. Crowded of course.
Comments:
1. The biggest apprearance is that of baby strollers. Had to balance my way all aroung NYYuppies. Q as a Toddler phenomena?
2. Danny Meyers Shake Shack probably has the longest lines of all. Does it belong?
3. Is the $125.00 Bubba Ticket worth it for backdoor access?
4. Are the i hour BBQ seminars worth $25-$50?

(Wierd that BBQ started out as po' man food!)

Ok, no bites so far. How about just one question:

Do you think it is worth $125 to have express line access at a BBQ festival?

Doesn't matter if it's worth it. It's NYC, you have to offer a privilege at a cost. Kind of like paying to see free Shakespeare in the Park (again, no waiting in line). I'm suprised it's only $125 for special access. Too many of the "hoi polloi" might afford that tariff.

I guess it must be to some, but it wouldn't be to me! Which place was your favorite? I have been disappointed with the latest NY BBQ places, but haven't been to Dinosaur yet. I still miss the days when Pearson's was in the back of the bar in Jackson Heights.

Getting nailed in the ankles by people who use their stroller as a crowd clearing device is a real pain in the rear at festivals like this...and if you say anything, you come off looking evil because you hate babies (someone actually said that to me after I asked her to watch it when she hit me for the third time while walking behind me...some day a real rain will come!!!!)
