Yahoo! Nordstrom is sending me to Portland for one week for corporate training! Apparently they do this with all their managers. Maybe mrchips and I can get get together!

Congratulations!
I live in Chicago and we often go to a Nordstroms Cafe for lunch even if we aren't shopping there. They took the Crab Cake salad w/ Chipotle dressing and Champagne vinaigrette off of the menu... much to my chagrin. When I asked about it the waitress took my information and the chef sent me the recipe. I was so happy(and somewhat surprised)to receive it in the mail. I hope you'll enjoy your new adventure!
The customer really does come first at Nordstrom's...so refreshing in this Costco age.

mr chips.....I'll be traveling SINGLE for a whole week!! Yippee! I'll email you when I know my itinerary.
twodales....yes, the customer is priority #1 at Nordstrom. As far as specialty department stores go, the staff really bends over backwards. Pretty cool company.
Even the staff is treated royally.....I saw the store manager today on my way out of work, she stopped me to chat, went up the escalator with me and chatted some more. VERRRRYYYY nice people. Looking forward to Portland!

Yup, here she goes folks! Lleechef is packing as I type to go to Portland, OR for Nordstrom's corporate chef school.  She's all excited and I don't blame her. HELL, I'd take a week in Portland meself! Anyway, I think she is set to meet up with the local roadfooders there and WE all should be expecting reports soon. GOOD LUCK CHEF!

Sorry I took so long for this..... My puter decided to take a vacation without me.
So, I guess this means that all the Airlines there will have to start going to Nordstroms to get their chow for their flights.....If Lisa's in town, thats where to go!
