Lobster Eating Contests Come to Maine

My wife sent me this piece of news from the world of eating contests. I think I could get into this one a little more than buffalo wing or hot dog eating...

"Maine launches a series of lobster-eating contests

(Bangor, Maine-AP) -- You've heard about the guys who can gobble dozens of hot dogs in a few minutes. But how would they do with lobsters?

Maine is planning to find out. The Maine Lobster Promotion
Council is holding lobster-eating contests this summer. There will be five of them at various festivals, leading to a "world
championship" over Labor Day weekend. Each participant will get four lobsters -- and the first to rip them open and eat them will win.

A council spokeswoman says, as far as she knows, there had never been a lobster-eating contest in Maine before the first one year last year. And in a state with such a famous crustacean, she
wonders why nobody thought of it before."

Four lobsters? I wonder what the entry fee is?!
