Giving this a little bump here. I've been to Rockland but never for the festival, great town. Exactly where would you like to visit on the trip north? Newburryport Ma. is a great city to visit. I belive the Homecoming Festival may be at the same time. www.yankeehomecoming.com It's a week long afair that's well attended. Unfortunatly there are no hotels there at this time, but accomidations can be had in nearby Salisbury or Hampton Beach. Chow Jim

Thanks for the info Jim. We'd like to stay somewhere close to Rockland. We always just stop wherever the wind blows us. Wanto to stay coastal. Looking for places in the Rockland area.

Coney Island Lunch (Worcester, MA)...not that far off of Rte 290 Kimball Farm Ice Cream (Westford, MA)...just off of Rte 495 Sweet Pea Bakery (Kittery, ME)...a loaf of Fugasse (sp?) would be perfect for the ride up to Rockland. Its on Rte 1 on the left about 1 mile from the Portsmouth, NH bridge. Portsmouth is a great spot to stop as well. Pepe's (Manchester, CT)..Buckland Mall exit off of Rte 84 Clam Shack (Kennebunk, ME)...its on Rte 9 just before the bridge to Kennebunkport. Get off the Maine TPK at the first exit after the toll booth. Continue to Rte 1 N & bear right onto Rte 9 at the Maine Diner (another good spot). This will take you into Kennebunkport...a very nice sidetrack ride. Reds (Wiscasset, ME)...Rte 1 Harraseeket(sp?) Lobster (Freeport, ME)...very very good. It was just reviewed here a few days ago.

I would skip Harraseeket Lobster. We had a terrible lobster roll there, and they don't seem to care
