For a change of pace from the usual grilled & fried fish that predominates in this area, go to Mainely Lobster & pick up a very good lobster roll. The baked bean sides were also very good. We split on the coleslaw; she loved it, while I thought it was too sweet. They're also a retail fish market.

Thanks for the info-sounds like a great place to visit next time we are down in Florida. Is the lobster roll with butter?(I hope) Am not a fan of the one with mayo, or whatever they use....

Ours were made with just the slightest bit of mayo. Next time we go we'll ask if they do the butter version. I'll post it here if they do.

I did ask them and they said no.. As I also, prefer the hot buttered ones.

              Jellybear,

I didn't start this thread implying people should visit Cocoa Beach for the lobster roll. It was more of a public service message for all us transplanted Northeasterners that now live in the area, and remember this item fondly.

Hello the Lobster Rolls you speak of. I pray there isn't a lot of fillers with the Lobster I'm not much of a fan of the Mayo do you have to have it that way.

Ordinarily, I'd agree with this analogy. However, I'd kill for a lobster roll here in Dallas. Even a reasonable facsimile.

Just a dab of mayo so that the big chunks of lobster meat stick together...no celery or other fillers.

It's funny what we miss! I really miss the NYC hard rolls. There's no facsmile down here in FL, reasonable or otherwise.
