Lobster in Mt. Desert Island, Maine

Years ago I was in Arcadia National Park and ate lobster at a great little roadside lobster stand. They gave you a plastic bib and you sat at a picnic table and ate the sweetest lobster meat I've ever tasted. I'm not sure I'll find it again - any suggestions of such a place in the Bar Harbor, Maine area?

I'm not gonna remember the name to save my life, but my family ate at a little place that fits your description on the water in Bass Harbor (two places there & this was the less fancy of the two - downright basic really) We happened to catch a sunset that turned the whole sky red, orange and pink - folks came out of the kitchen to catch it. Bass Harbor is on the opposite side of the island from Bar Harbor, but that's still close by. And far fewer tourists (but don't tell anyone)

My favorite is Thurston's Lobster Pound in Bernard (around the bend from Bass Harbor). Second choice is Beal's in SW Harbor.

I like the Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound on Rt. 3 in Trenton, ME just outside of Bar Harbor. I was there last week and I can't wait to go back.

We just got back from Bar Harbor and enjoyed phenomenal lobster at Beal's in Southwest Harbor. It is located on a pier and the lobster is the best I have ever had
