Local Mexican Place in Knoxville - Wed, 04/16/03 9:01 PM ( #1 )
"El charro" Number one Mexican place in knoxvlle. They have three locations and we have been going there for many years. Most authenic plae around this parts. Even the TV features Hispanic stations. Better than that, their chips are hot, salsa is hot and chimis are great. The portions are great, rice is great, salad is great, chimis are dark brown, crispy and the beef or chicken is well cooked.

One on camppus of UT and the other is farther out west close to Farragut. The one at the top of the hill in Bearden is the original.

Wondering if anyone has been to Burrito Diablo on Kingston Pk next to Panera and the Creamery? it's a "Subway" style mexican place, with a few basic choices. My wife likes it but I am not sold on it. Just wondering if anyone else had tried?

Some Mexican places on Broadway, Senor Taco is one, but there are others. I've not been to them. Can anyone give a recommendation?
Also, I recommend Taco de Mexico, off I-275, Baxter St exit I believe. Mexican roadfood for sure, but really good.
