I met Poverty Pete this morning at 7:00AM for some coffee and a bagel at his favorite coffee place in Nashville. Coffee was great and the bagel was even better. I sure needed the coffee as I left Memphis very early to meet Poverty at 7:00AM. Poverty paid which was even a better deal. Great place and even harder to find. Thanks Poverty for the hospitality.

We had a great discussion regarding the upcoming Moonlite Glee Club meeting.

I sure am looking forward to the meeting with all of who attends.

Can you share with us what his favorite coffee place in Nashville is?

I am curious also!
Poverty Pete, and Pogophiles, are both very knowledgeable about the food scene in Nashville. We have learned to take their suggestions seriously when looking for food in Middle Tennessee!
The dinner stop we made on the Bourbon Tour last fall, at La Hacienda in Nashville was some of the best Mexican Food I've enjoyed East of the Mississippi! (The 45 oz Margaretia's helped, I'm Sure!) Thanks to those two guys we had a great dinner!

Apparently Poverty Pete has had breakfast which consist of coffee and bagels at this place for years as they all seemed to know him.

the name of the place is Sam and Zoe and is located on Thompson Lane which is not a very long street and located at the intersection of Ansord.

Thanks to Poverty, he bought my coffee and hot bagel with a great cream cheese with veggies.

I talked to Poverty a few minutes ago and he will give you a further update.

Coffee was super as I left Memphis at 4:30AM and arrived at Nashvillle at 7:00AM. As you can guess, I needed the coffee and it was very good. It had to be good as Poverty has been doing business with them for a long time.

Who told you??! Actually, Mrs. Driver DID pay for lunch, but I bought the beers at our next stop.
Sam & Zoe's is on Thompson at Bransford.

Sorry for the wrong address Poverty but the coffee and bagel was great. I really needed it at the time. Thanks for the experience. I truly enjoyed the stop particuarly because I left Memphis so early and had driven in the dark to get to Nashville. Coffee was super and so good to see you again.

One thing I did notice about Poverty was that he did not have his traditional uniform on.

See you in Owensboro on 2/18/06

Masonville is a 3 minute 45 MPH speed zone.

231 is fine. Mapquest selected the PKWY...

I always look here:

http://www.time.gov/

when traveling to get a idea of the time difference. It's hard to keep up with the rest of the world when you live in Indiana..........

However this time map shows that Owensboro is so near the division for the east/central time zone that I am not sure what zone Owensboro is in. So what time Zone is it? I guess Beaver Creek is in the same time zone as Owensboro?

Butch

The line for the Time zone passes east of Owensboro...so Owensboro, Evansville, and Nashville are all on Central Standard time right now.
The line twists and turns a bit so that it crosses I-65 between Elizabethtown and Bowling Green KY...so Bowling Green is on Central time and E-town is on Eastern. Louisville and its suburbs are on EASTERN TIME.
As a Hoosier you understand what that has meant in the past when Indiana did'n't switch to Daylite time (our counties changed with Louisville)....but according to what I read that will not happen this Spring. BUT as of now we here in Louisville's Indiana suburbs don't know if we will switch or not... No answer has been given yet to what and when to Switch.
But that is not an issue for our meeting. We (you and I) are on Eastern Time. Owensboro Isn't! That seems to shorten the trip (on the clock) for me to get to the Moonlite..but makes the trip home very long !!
As a transplant from the west I find the "dos-e-doe" around the Fast-time/Slow-time thing interesting at the change times each year.

That will work out for the best. I just looked and we can check into our room at the Days Inn at 2PM Central time. We are bringing our two small dogs with us so it will give us a chance to unpack at the motel, let the dogs stretch their short legs, and wash our faces before heading to the Moonlite.

See you there,
Butch

We will be sure to announce to all at the Moonlite BBQ Meeting about the Sunday Morning followup breakfast for those staying in the area. Has anyone heard from Avalanche Driver about being able to get Saturday cleared for his participation at the Moonlite??

Well the wife and I just got back from a late breakfast at the Beaver Dam Cafe.

I had a 3 egg omelet with bacon, cheese and tomatoes, toast and coffee.

Tammy had the same but with grilled ham.

I let them know we would be there in force on Saturday.

Cheers!
