London Towne Fish and Chips?

There used to be (early 80's) a chain of English fish and chip shops in Los Angeles, called "London Towne" or something similar. Anyway, one was on Sepulveda Blvd.-near Champion Chevrolet. Is this chain still around? They had the best fish ever-it was icelandic cod. They also had the heated glass boxes (to keep the fish and fries warm)-all genuine, made in England!

You sure your not thinking Arthur Treachers? Had to ask... Edit.. Reason I ask is that I've done an exaustive search of current and former seafood places on Sepulveda Blvd. This is the only one that seems to click. Other place I found was not dated, but called H. Salt Fish & Chips that may possibly fit that time period. You'll probably get a better response during the day.. Maybe Rex will pop in and answer your question! Good Luck!!

Uncle Vic, we had H. Salt's in KC. As I recall, they were far superior to Arthur Treacher's. They are all closed, as far as I know, but my limited F&C knowledge and rememberence says they were much lighter and crisper, as opposed to AT's grease laden pieces. I always enjoyed Fish and Chip chains 'cuz that was definitely something I didn't get at home. Pan fried bluegill, crappie, and catfish, but nobody served those as as fast food in KC.
