Re: Looking for FOODIE Advice for NEW ENGLAND
New Haven, CT - Frank Pepe's, Sally's, or Modern Apizza. ... Or Zuppardi's in West Haven.
New London/Mystic, CT - Kamp Dog in New London. SeaSwirl in Mystic.
South Kingstown, RI - Phil's in the village of Wakefield (Wakefield is the main village in South Kingstown.) There's also Spain in nearby Narragansett. Not RoadFood per se, but a wonderful restaurant with Spanish and Portuguese dishes.
Boston, MA - Durgin Park.
Amesbury, MA - If you are willing to drive an extra 45 minutes northeast of Amesbury, the Maine Diner in Wells, Maine is terrific. You can also go about 30 minutes southeast of Amesbury to go to The Clam Box in Ipswich, MA. Many people enjoy their fried clams.
Tilton, NH - Hart's Turkey Farm in Meredith, NH about 25 minutes northeast of Tilton. Pretty good turkey dinner, and great house made pies (They are made in their building next door just uphill of the restaurant). The blueberry pie is outstanding!
Have a fun trip!
