Looking for candy names Wed, 12/28/05 5:14 PM (permalink)
I'm looking for types of candy from the 80's. One is red and blue gum balls with bumps all over them, inside were red and blue sour crystals. They came in a yellow package, they were packaged like Zotz. I think the name had someting to do with space.

Second, looking for a white sour powder that was pressed into little pellets "about the size of a mouse turd". These were also sour and had a slight fizz to them, it came in a silver foil like package about the size of a wallet. I also remember the picture on the front having a space ship in space on it.
These are not fizzies.

I found a site that has gum somewhat like I'm talking about, but the one that I'm looking for is not this old. The same concept though.

I've looked at every online candy store I could find for both of these candies and even emailed Necco

I want to say they were made by the same people that made Zotz but cant be sure. Maybe the powder was like the inside of zotz.

Do you also remember the 7/11 slurpee flavored gum? packaged like gator gum but had all the Slurpee flavors of that time. anyone seen that latley?

Let me know if you can help

Thanks

You might be able to find some of that stuff at www.hometownfavorites.com. It started out as a site to supply people who had moved & suddenly couldn't find favorite foods & brands with their hometown favorites, but has expanded to including stuff that's hard to find anywhere if it's still made somewhere (& it has a whole separate section on candy).

If you can't find it there, they have a page where you can make requests & they'll try to find it for you.

    Good luck.

Thank you so much for that link! I've finally found my favorite candy again - Smoothies.

The fizzy, pellet candy you describe might be Pop-Rocks (?) ... also available at hometownfavorites.
