Looking for feedback concerning POS Systems... Tue, 07/22/08 12:54 PM (permalink)
Background: Managed restaurant for 5 years, Our business used POSiTouch w/ IBM Machines. I tend to think of myself as computer savy and was able to navigate the system / modify it w/ ease. Our business burned down and we are in the process of rebuilding, and one of the task at hand is trying to figure out wether or not to keep this system or upgrade to new software...

I have reviewed ALOHA and HALO so far and was curious as to others input in the matter... I have searched for reviews, but all google does is point me to the distruibutors sites and I would rather have the input of managers who might use some of these systems.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Matt

If you liked your old system and it did everything you wanted/needed and was easy to work why change just to change? If its a couple years old it will be WAY cheaper to get a used one rather than the insane prices they will want for one of the newest systems that you will have to learn and maybe find out its not any better than what you had.

        I used Restaurant Manager. rmpos.com

I think that most of the touch screen POS systems do relativeley the same functions. It's all about the reports at the end of the day. Rest. Manager is easy to program if you are indeed a little computer saavy, like I am. You can access it remotley from home, and it is rich with reports. I happen to have my hardware available for purchase as I have recently closed my restaurant. Email me if you are interested or have questions about RM. **NOTE** I am not affiliated with RM in any way, I am just a formr restaurant owner with some experience and used POS equipment.**
