Looking for lost chocolate cherry cake recipe

Until yesterday morning, I had a wonderful tried-and-true recipe called "All-American Chocolate Cherry Cake" that I'd clipped from the LA Times sometime in the 1980s. But, it's now gone missing (probably accidentally tossed with trash). The ingredients included 2 8-oz. packages of cream cheese, a can of cherry pie filling, raisins, blanched almonds, semi-sweet chocolate chips and cocoa powder. The ingredients did NOT include a cake mix.
It was deliciously moist and fudgey, and my heart is breaking 'cause I can't find the recipe anywhere.
I've tried the internet, but can't find anything similar. Do any of you happen to have this recipe?
