I truly visualize a young Tony Bad looking like this:

So am I the kid or the clown?

Are you saying I'm funny?

I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?

A bucketful of frogs.  Awesome.  I don't think that's the place from 'Enchanted' now.

Having sat through yet another viewing of "Enchanted" today (yeah, I know: -- but my youngest has the DVD), neither of the Italian places I mentioned (Puglia nor Grimaldi's) are the "dating spot" in the movie. In fact, said restaurant location in the film is given away in the film itself (and as 116th Street and Broadway [on the Upper West Side]) when the reporter covering the "incident" at said restaurant [think: this] says that she is reporting from 116th Street and Broadway, FYI.

Dude, you are much more dedicated than I would be.  And you also pay attention, which I do not do.  :)

i95, it sounds like you and "the gang" had one heck of a weekend. I haven't been to NYC in about five years, but I hope to get back in the not-too-terribly distant future. If I do, I'll have to keep some of these places in mind ( especially that pizza place! )

Fried Dumpling (99 Allen Street)…Oh, my. Five freshly prepared, scrumptious and cooked right in front of you Chinese dumplings for one dollar. Even. I could live here.

Just an update here that this place has passed on, is no more, has ceased to be, has expired and gone to meet its maker, is a late restaurant, is a stiff, is bereft of life, rests in peace, its metabolical processes are of interest only to historians, has hopped the twig, has shuffled off this mortal coil and has run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. In short, this is an ex-restaurant.

I’m not sure when in the last year the place officially closed nor when the lease signs went up but our planned return there this past Saturday only detoured us to the more than adequate substitute well touted on this site that being the nearby (Vanessa's) Dumpling House ([link=http://www.menupages.com/restaurants/dumpling-house/]http://www.menupages.com/..aurants/dumpling-house/[/link]) on Eldridge Street also in Manhattan's Chinatown. There, the dumplings are four-for-a-buck and equally delicious. In addition, the sesame pancakes with scallions, I believe, were just two-dollars and to-die-for, FYI.

Nancy,

Your above characterization of The Travelin Man seems a bit harsh.

jeez, I for one am relieved. I thought we were talking about a pet tapeworm or some such thing.

That's always been my accusation to buffetbuster--that he can power through as many places as he hits in a trip report because he has a tapeworm.  :)

There are reports on the web that Fried Dumpling has reopened in Flushing, Queens at 40-04 Union Street. There are many Asians living in this area.
