I tried Meatloaf on the grill once.. Took a loaf pan, drilled holes in the side so the grease would drip down giving some extra smoke.. It somewhat worked, but the inner sides of the loaf where burnt.. Center was edible though.. I figured to do it on the cool side of the grill the next round, but cook times would be quite lengthy. Never did try it again...

This is from the Weber Grill:

      BBQ MEATLOAF
      Ingredients:

2 Pounds Ground Beef (80-percent lean is preferred)
      1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
1 Spanish Onion (peeled and chopped)
      1/2 Cup Dry Bread Crumbs
1/3 Cup Weber's Original" Barbeque Sauce (or your favorite BBQ Sauce)
      2 Large Eggs
      3 Tablespoons Ketchup
      2 Teaspoons Salt
2 Tablespoons Weber's Smokey Joe" Hickory Barbecue Sauce (or your favorite BBQ Sauce)
      Instructions:

      Preheat oven to 325°F.

In a large bowl and add meat, onions, bread crumbs, Weber's Original Barbeque Sauce, eggs, ketchup and salt. Mix ingredients until thoroughly blended. Pack into an 8-inch x 4-inch loaf pan and smooth top. Coat top with a thin layer of Weber's Smokey Joe Hickory Barbecue Sauce, reserving the majority of the sauce for basting on the grill.

Place loaf on a cookie sheet to catch any overflow, cook in 325-degrees F oven until thoroughly cooked (center reaches 155-degrees F), about 40 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Refrigerate at least two hours or overnight.

Preheat grill to use the indirect/medium method of cooking. (About a 350-degrees F grill with charcoal on each side for a Weber kettle or the middle burner(s) off for a Weber gas grill).

Remove chilled meatloaf from pan and slice crosswise into 1 inch thick slices.

Grill slices directly over heat source for one minute per side. Move slices to the center of grill, indirect heat source, and continue to grill for 2-3 minutes and glaze with Weber's Smokey Joe Hickory Barbecue Sauce.

      6 servings

I just prepare my usual meatloaf recipe... place in a pan (I use a glass one) and place it on indirect heat after I grill my regular meal (making sure there are enough briquets burning and replacing the lid)... practically cooks itself... always done to perfection and it's all for leftovers (if I can keep from picking at it, of course)... I don't ust the oven at all...

My bar-b-que meatloaf is perty darn tasty and definitely NOT a result of tunnel-vision thinking... damn the torpedoes (and hoagies, submarines, etc)... full speed ahead and to each his own...

Don't worry about it bn1. Yours was a perfectly legitimate question. That was just BT's way of saying Hi, Stranger. Welcome. He doesn't know any better.

Well, you take a bunch of charcoal and put it in your oven. Steaks must be VERY thick; at least 15". A side of beef works much better, BTW. Go ahead and wrap a couple of potatoes in foil, while you are at it. Set oven to broil. Vacate your abode within next 10-15 minutes. The next day or so, after your house has burnt down and all the smoke has cleared, find what was left of your oven. Steaks probably in there somewhere... Most likely after you cut through all of the carbon you will find a perfectly cooked & smoked 3-4 ounce steak. Enjoy.

Well, that begs the question, DOES your MEAT LOAF?? HA! (Man, I really crack me up!)

Anyway, here's one made for the Weber Smokey Mountain, which I'm sure could be easily adapted to the kettle.

This is for a smoker but I am sure it would be great on the grill too.

Was there something wrong with the recipe from the Weber Grill in Chicago that you asked for (DOES ANYONE HAVE A RECIPE FOR MEATLOAF TO MAKE ON THE WEBER GRILL LIKE THEY DO AT THE WEBER GRILL RESTAURANT IN CHICAGO?)? I'm just sort of curious about that.
