Now you see, there you go again. You come up with a great soup idea, but you can't keep from over-baconing.

"over-baconing" - love the term, but not sure it can ever happen ;-) this looks so yummy, and decidedly NOT lo-cal!

I'm a bacon lover. But what I love is the aroma while it's cooking (oh, and the bacon fat when cooking other things). If only it could taste as good as it smells.

That looks really good but I'll go for a little less bacon too.

How 'bout a little dab of sour cream and some chives on top of that heavenly concoction?

Is that what you serve your customers, or is it a picture for Roadfood? Because it looks incredible, and unfortunately, we customers do not receive that kind of abundance around here -- we are usually served sprinkles instead. ALLGOOD's suggestion would make perfect and beautiful even more so.

I meant to mention, isn't the idea of all that bacon because some is intended to go down into the soup? But, unlike others here I guess, I could never eat enough bacon.

It is a barbeque joint! He saves his fine silver for his French Onion Soup. He even allows one to bring in their Waterford for their beverage of choice

I want to be completely off topic here! A friend's parents did the neatest thing when they went out to celebrate with their friends who were celebrating a significant anniversary. They new that their friends always wanted to own Waterford Crystal so they arranged with the restaurant to set their table with Waterford. They said that the friends sat there staring at the crystal and finally said... do you think they'd miss one? After the meal was served and prior to the dessert the glasses were taken off of the table and returned, washed and gift boxed for their final destination. Now... I want a bowl of Chewey's crab bisque. Too much bacon for me on the soup pictured here. I think it would overpower.

ALLGOOD's suggestion would make perfect and beautiful even more so. No way would I skimp on anything ever, that's a typical bowl, it would be embarassing to post a pic and have a Roadfood member come in to try it out, I'd be sunk here. I have a number of regular posters who come in from time to time. I never know when someone I haven't met personally is a poster here.

Looks delicious. The pics remind me of a mac and cheese side I had recently. It was served in a small ramekin with a garnish of thick-sliced chopped bacon, chopped scallions, and grated sharp cheddar. Added a nice crunch, and contrast to the creaminess of the mac and cheese.

Oh my looks so tempting. My physician just advised me to cut out my cheese and cold cuts in take because I often get dizzy after having a dose. However, I think I may have to try this one. Hopefully soon when I get home from a long journey.

Got it - it is perfectly ok to tell someone to play in traffic, but not ok to express anything but delight over one of this particular person's menu items.

I agree. Apparently some folks here are held to lesser requirements for civility than are others. I will keep that in mind
