Al, I ask for the first copy autographed. I read his first one and it is coffee table grade. Beautiful polished pages. I will bet it cost a bundle to get it published. The book must have weighed five pounds.

Since you cannot get the tune out of your head, you might be able to listen to a portion of it on this link. Scroll down until you see the tune in green and click on it. It might work for you????

CSD, this reminds me of you also.

It was a pleasure having lunch last week with Fred Sauceman and Al The Mayor and Bushie and Sherrie at Claudia Sanders in Simpsonville, KY. Fred and his wife are delightful eating companions ( not to mention Al and Jan and Mark and Sherrie). We are looking forward to reading Fred's books - he is a true devotee of Southern traditions and especially Southern food traditions.

                        Cheers, John

Just as a point of information, y'all can pre-order Mr. Sauceman's new book here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0865549907/sr=8-2/qid=1141657464/ref=sr_1_2/104-9304813-5215960?%5Fencoding=UTF8

This should be a really GREAT book.

Just ordered the book and had it sent to Sauceman for his autograph , and he'll send it on to me - just like we did with Grampy's cocktail book.

Sauceman's 'Southren Foodways organization is doing great work in documenting, preserving, and teaching about traditional southern provisions and cooking. Anyone who likes BBQ or Country Ham or "Meat and Three, etc. might be interested in looking into the southern foodways website.

                              Cheers, John
