Glad to see you made it back to Marlboro again...
Did you have a chance to try Sully's?....
(Disclaimer--It has been 5 years since I was there, so I can't speak for what it may be now)

But I always enjoyed it when I was living there..
Also, the prime rib sandwiches at The Little Pub (usually the day after their Prime Rib nights)--Again, refer to my disclaimer above.)
I also used to get their Club sandwiches..

The little pub is on Boston Post road past Firefly's on the left side of the road.. (Going east towards Boston)------

Roossy90 - sorry to give you the bad news but the Little Pub has closed its doors.  It has been shut down since the summer.  Hopefully another Roadfood type place will take over.

I too missed this post first time around, not not this time. Now it's a five star, where it belongs.

to the poster who was looking for seafood, I can't help much but can say that The Lazy Dog has a great fish & chips. 

Anyone know any good Chinese places in Marlborough?  Haven't had much luck in that department.  I did go to the new Japanese steakhouse (Fuji) and got the filet mignon and lobster combo and it was very good.

If you are looking for Chinese take-out, Yummy Kitchen at 42 Boston Post Road has excellent food.  Doesn't look like much of a place but the Kitchen turns out some nice dishes.
If you want to dine, I suggest you go to neighboring Sudbury to Lotus Blossom, that is also on Route 20.  It is better quality Chinese food and they also serve sushi.
Glad to hear that you liked Fuiji.  We plan on trying it.

Since 1969 so many  Chinese restuarants have opened in Marlborough that there is one on every block, I find it hard to believe your going to Sudbury for Chinese.

Pam.. I love the lettuce wraps at Joy Asia.. And the lemon shrimp is pretty good..... Most of all, I love going there and drinking Mai tai's and playing Keno!..(when I lived there)..
But I always went to Acapulco in Sudbury for Mexican....

Roossy90 - Thanks for the tip on the lettuce wraps at Joy Aisa.  Next time I am there, I will give them a try.  I usually get the buffet that can be anywhere from very good to mediocre.  The place is packed on the weekends with Keno players and Karioke singers.

Growing up we had "the Moniki (Ray True Value plazza), Fortune Garden(Joy of Aisa Now) and the Hong Kong Tea House ( Across of the Wildwood) and Chin's Garden. I've never been to Boston's China town but I have had food in Toronto's China town. When I write about restaurants I just like them in my opinion, but I'm always interested in other people reviews. I will tell you that at the present we went to
the Hudson Super buffet (My brother lives on th Marlboro and Hudson line) and have found that as of  November the quality of the place
had gone down in all areas ( Service, Food,Cleaness of Restaurant)
so we won't hurry back.
I have had food at Panda House (not Bad) but by the posts I look forward to eating at the Yummy House and to be honest soon
I will eating at the Lotus Blossum and will report my findings.
There is a Family Italian restaurant in Waltham and Westboro Ma.
called the  Chateau that people on all boards give mix reviews (I love the Place) everybody have different taste but my feeling is you should
alway get your money's worth.

brucekc, I love the Chateau.  Besides excellent, red sauce Italian food, they do a great job with whole belly clams.  I have been to the Waltham and Norwood Restaurants.
 
Next time you are in Marlborough give Devo's Dogs a try.  You will not be disappointed.

Speaking of the Chateau (in Westboro), we were there this past weekend and could not believe the crowd.  Good thing we had a reservation because we would have waited a while.  You would think they were giving the food away!!  We had a excellent meal.  I had the veal piccata - four large pieces of tender veal in a lemon sauce.   The hubby had the veal parm.  At least you feel like you get your money's worth and the quality of food is great!

We went to the Chateau with a party of 17 and it was outstanding! the bill was $300  and the wait staff was great.
For many people in the party it was their first trip to the Chateau and they were impressed. I had the Italian platter
with veal and it was out of this world and others raved about
their meals as well. I can't wait to go back!

That Devo cheeseburger looks real good!

Pam.. Chens makes a killer pork something or another soup... I cannot remember the exact name... but I am thinking it has cabbage and pork in it, and I have never seen it at any other Chinese joints.......If I could have one thing from Chens, thats what it would be.......

Tara, I found Sully's.  I drove by around 7:00 PM and the bartender and waitress were having a cigarette out front.  Nobody was in the place.  Hey, what do you want for a Monday Night?  At least I know where it is now.  Will try again later.
 
So leaving there I made a wrong turn and saw this place:
 

The Tropical Cafe!!!  At first I looked over and said "what is that Rita's Italian Ice doing open in the winter?"  Then I saw it was a Brazilian place and it sure looked like Roadfood.
 
The waitress comes over and I say "English" and she says "NO".  Then she asks if anyone in the place speaks English and two very nice guys come over to help me order(not much help).  I'm looking at the menu:
 
And I point at the picture of the Muqueca.  Everyone shook their head in agreement, so I ordered it.  The menu describes it as, mix of fish, shrimp, coconut milk and palm oil.  I didn't know what to expect, this is what I got:
 
 
The bowl on the stand was still boiling when it arrived.  A delicious sauce with huge chunks of fish and whole shrimp.  This was  outstanding.  The small bowl?  I have no idea what it was, but again fantastic.  The strongest flavor was cilantro.  Here is my plate:

I have been to many Brazilian steakhouses, but this was my first encounter with authentic Brazilian food.  I can't wait to go back for breakfast and lunch.  So far Marlborough has proven to be a first class Roadfood town.
 
Funny...and sad, I worked almost two years with a crew from Portugal, and all I learned were the curse words.

The Brazilian population in Massachusetts is overwhelming!......I was so surprised that there were so many living there when I first moved there.
Interesting how things turn out, eh?... Whoodathunk you find a little off the beaten path home cooking restaurant?....I am not surprised that in the middle of winter on a Monday night, that Sullys was dead.........I hope for your sake that it hasnt gone downhill in the few years that I have been gone from there.
Check out the 99 pub for their Coconut Shrimp and a root beer float. Its a local chain, but they had some of the best coconut shrimp I ever had.
I worked at the Picadilly (no, not the cafeteria) for over 2 years, and their food isnt bad. They have a huge menu, and I always loved the BBQ pork sandwiches. If I remember correctly, I think it was sold to new owners.. It also is a local chain in Mass....I wouldnt  say roadfood, but its decent and quick with a variety of items.

The tropical Place looks cool....and that rice dish,what ever it is, I want some!!!!

Unfortunately, Marlborough is not that big of a candy store.....Joe, also try some places in Hudson or Northboro...There used to be a good Italian place, on 20 going west towards Auburn....
ALSO------
Take a trip out 9 towards Worcester to Westborough....
JP's has the best, I mean the best!!!--- Lobster Rolls around.
Huge.. and their steak sandwich isnt nothing to sneeze at either--I can never make my mind up when I go there!!!!!----
You probably can ask anyone locally about JP'S--they have been there forever....

I too love the Chateau (I have been with friends to Waltham who eat there every Friday night!)... I sure miss the Chateau in Arlington!  There's a local chain there now, so sad. At least they (I can't say "we" since I sold my house) still have Jimmy's Steer House!

Here are some of my favorite Marlboro/Northboro spots and some that I have not tried:

Sullivans - odd location for sure, I lived and/or worked around Marlboro for many years but just found them recently...great 8 ounce burger and fries for $5.50 or so.

Another good burger at The Prospector on Lincoln - only lunch though and sporadic so call first.

Jake's on main street - GREAT breakfast menu, home made corned beef hash, service can be vexing but good food, good lunch menu too.

In the building in front of the Brazilizn diner, on main, there is Dino's ? Trattoria, only been for appetizers but it seemed promising.

Small Thai restauarnt on main, near Dino's....great Thai fried rice with basil, made with brown rice on reuqest.

Boar's Nest sandwich shop on main same ara, looks good but never been...could be a good Subway alternative.

Sergio's...Route 20 east...good breakfast menu, build your own omelette

Firefly's BBQ on route 20 E...awesome

Stephen Anthony ? restaurant on 20 E toward Sudbury, Wayside Inn area, great home made maple sausage.

Route 20 W across 495:

Good sit down chinese restaurant in the plaza where Hannafords and Panera are (forget the name)

Beezers in the summer for ice cream and good Chicago dogs

Britney's - SUPER breakfast with a huge menu, good quality, great home made hash browns

Further out there is the Steakloft, looks promising but never been there
