Saw this in the store, and couldnt resist wasting my money just to take a photo of it.. It smells like strawberry.. and it really is realistic looking. Sure has hell not going to eat it though. I wonder how I can preserve it? Oh, BTW--stat's on this thing.. Calories 309 73G carbs 53G sugars 3G protein

Just a minute, here, folks. How do we know that's not a normal hot dog, a la Roossy's Runzas? Remember the colors on that puppy? Doesn't quite explaine the poofiness, though, does it.

As my Non-Favorite person, Rachel Ray would say..."It smells DELISH".... I will get ya one Enginecapt, if ya want... Mine is just wasting away in a cupboard in the kitchen. Just not sure what to do with it....Besides toss it in the garbage... It's there with my Monty Python "SPAMALOT" can, which I am not sure of the expiration date of that either.

Roossy~ Many places that I have worked have used spray shellac on the desserts on the dessert trays. Because they were in and out of the fridge, and swung around on a tray {and occasionally, customers would grab them off the tray!!}, they would only last a week or so. I think the shellac would have lasted longer, if not for the abuse the desserts suffered. Maybe this would work on your "faux dog".

Thanks for the tip, and why I want to save it is beyond me, but I just cant seem to part with it!

It's even better when you realize that he had to do this after 2002 when he was in his late 50's.

I know this is a 'bump' of a very old thread...but the "Hot Dog" just triggered a memory in me...and maybe in some of you SoCal Folks...Elise and Capt. Jack And Ed Sailes or anyone old enough to remember this stuff... I remember as a kid going to the Long Beach "Plunge", an indoor swimming pool. We would do the swimming stuff and play for awhile (I think it was a Scout Activity night kind of thing for us) The "Plunge" was an admission fee type of pool located next to or across from the Long Beach Pike...The Pike was a traditional amusement park located where the Rainbow Pier used to be--Old style rides, lots of shooting galleries and 'basketball toss' "games. ANYWAY, one of the candy stands on the Pike that sold Fudge of various flavors and a million kinds of Salt Water Taffy, also sold the 'Fake Food Candy' Sunny Side Eggs, Hot Dogs and Hamburgers were all on the menu. Do any of you guys remember the Pike.(circa 1956-59?) Janet spent her 'shore-time' at Balboa, so the Pike was not in her memory file. The photo of that candy Hot Dog triggered a flood of memories for me...Thanks for posting it.

Roosy, you have heard of Cool Dog at Fenway Park, haven't you? Might be able to keep it in the freezer, but I'm not sure how long. BTW - their website says they are at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. http://www.cooldoginc.com/
