Who is Marvin Zindler you ask? He was the inspiration for the character of the reporter in "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and a crusader for the little guy. He is worth reading about.

Marvin Zindler was the original consumer advocate on television. What a great character he was.

I live in San Antonio now, but I lived in Houston for over twenty years and ABC Channel 13 was the news to watch at 6 and 10 every evening in Houston during the 70's and 80's, because "MAAARVIN ZINDLER Eyewitness news!!" was on the air, giving us the low down on dirty restaurants in and around Houston. Many of his stories were also about people's day to day problems with thier oversized light and water bills or the city not paveing roads in lower income neighborhoods. These and many other stories were what made him an icon with viewers in the Houston area. As he use to say when signed off "IT's Hell!! being poor".

I hope Brother Marvin, 33rd Degree, has the biggest Masonic funeral in Houston history. We lived in Houston from '78 to '86, and loved to watch that character.
