Mason City the best steak I ever had

I believe I’ve mentioned the Northwest Steak House in Mason City before. But boy, I thought I’d bring it up again. I ate there Tuesday night and had the best steak I’ve ever had. I ordered the Filet rare, it tasted half like beef half like butter. I believe the steaks are pan fried and than baked for a while, they have some secret olive oil/butter mixture they cook them in. Sides were a very nice greek salad, and spaghetti drenched in butter and topped with some parmesan. Mason City is 45 minutes from my house, I had met my sister and her husband there. I’m sure there will be a few Monday nights with nothing to do that I’ll sneak down there by myself. If you decide to go it’s 2 blocks south of the large cement company on the very north edge of town. http://www.masoncityia.com/northwestern/

That looks like a really cool place to eat. I have a brother-in-law that lives in Mason City, I'll have to ask him about this place. Best steak I ever ate was on the other side of Iowa, in Sioux City at Minervas. Archie's Waeside in Le Mars serves up a mean steak too.

Thanks for the review and the heads-up. I'll have to try it the next time I'm driving through there.

Looks like something I would love to check out if I'm ever in the area. I'm sure just about any Steak from Iowa is something that is not to be missed!
