I've never had a Big Mac. What is Big Mac sauce?

It's basically Thousand Island dressing with some seasonings added. A diner I used to frequent made a very close version of it by mixing Thousand Island with a little mayonnaise, some chili powder, and water to thin it out.

I've now had aMcDonald's jalapeno burger in Texas, Nevada and twice in California.  For last night's I asked for extra crispy jalapeno chips.  They charged an extra 29¢ which was a good purchase.  My 4 example test is over.... I like them!

I picked up a couple large jars of roasted Hatch Chile's when I was in Albuquerque so my next hamburger will be a home made version of that which all seem to lust after.

I like this burger.  I'll probably get it again when I go back.

We liked it! Especially because it was new to us, and McDonalds was the only option for a meal in some areas we traveled to. Had it a couple of times, and was consistently good.

I've been staying away from McDonald's, but got stuck last week with it being my only choice where I was, and got this burger. A little dry, but lord help me I really enjoyed it.

I think there must be drugs in them.  Can't get enough.  Not as good without the crispies.

Enjoyable is a good word.  They're not high class, primo burgers.  They just taste good.

I posted this in a different thread:

*********************************************************************************
I had a Jalapeno McDouble twice today.  The first time and the last time.

The price was $2.10 (plus tax) while other 'premium' value items were more.  The sandwich did have a fair amount of both pickled jalapenos and the crispy fried strips.  I'm not a huge fan of jalapenos, but the crispy strips were good.  I also am not a big fan of ranch sauce, so I just dumped on some bbq sauce.

Not a bad deal for the price (if you like that taste).

eruby...  but you put bbq sauce on yours.  That's apples and oranges.

Do they have ranch sauce?  Never noticed that.  You can always ask for no ranch sauce and then you'll get a freshly made burger.  With the jalapenos you probably wouldn't even miss the sauce.

But that's okay.  I'm happy they changed them from limited time only to their $2 menu.

Yeah, the one I got had the ranch (or whatever the sauce is that comes with the burger).

Never thought about ordering it without the sauce, I may have to give that a whirl.  It would be completely different than getting the standard one and wiping off as much sauce as I could.

Excellent suggestion!

All this talk about the double jalapeno burger had me itching for one. So, I went out to go get one for lunch, but I got sidetracked and ended up getting a pound of foie gras instead. As foie gras is lleechef's favorite food in the whole world I consider myself fortunate that she has promised to let me have one bite. She let me have one bite of her white clam apizza from Frank Pepe's, too.

Speaking of foie gras....   California or Los Angeles just lifted our ban on it.  Must have been the state.

U.S. District Judge Stephen V. Wilson ruled that the California ban on foie gras was unconstitutional because it interfered with an existing federal law that regulates poultry products.

Well, I just got two jalapeno double burgers. The one I ate was drier than the desert and had two tiny pieces of crispy jalapeno. I didn't eat the second one, but I checked and was unable to find anything crispy. The one I ate did have three slices of pickled jalapeno. The other one had a couple more than that. I liked the things when they first came out, but they were very different then.

I tried one after reading the good reviews. It's just not my thing. They may have been better when they first were introduced though.

They were better!  The crispies were what made them good and they're disappearing from the sandwiches.  That is not a good thing!

I hate to hear that for you. I will say that mine had a lot of the crispies. It had a sauce or melted cheese or mixture of the two that just wasn't to my liking. I tried.

I'll give them a few more tries.  It's just so convenient and easy for me.  They're not the same without the crispies.

Why yes... that's my standard order... more crispies, please.

Some shops add 29 cents for the extras.  My corner place tends to not have any.

Keep asking and they will get to know you and put extra on when they see you at the counter. I hope your corner store gets them for you.
