McLobsta is still available in select locations from June-September.

We must not be select enough.  Our McD's around here used to have McLobsta, but no longer.

McLobsta is Canadian. So...he often rolls North of the Border.

In America...Maine is often his squeeze....when the market prices are right.

I think they're two for three bucks, all over Nashville.  It's blustery and cold here, so I don't think I'll go out.

The price for a McLobsta is between $6.00-$6.79 USD

The experience to be one of the very few with the golden tickets when McLobsta arrives (quietly) at very very limited locations....PRICELESS!

Yes...I appreciate that and you're in good hands.

Exit Green Dragon (pickles) and position in the Northwest corner of the box...for Feng Shui.

Just out of curiosity, what evil would have befallen me, had I oriented this sandwich to the northwest.    Are you bearing in mind that I'm trusting you with my life?

When you live in a BBQ mecca, it seems rather pointless for the local McD's to even offer the McRib.  I, personally, would love to try the McLobster/McLobsta roll, since they are so rare out here, but marketing at the big M doesn't seem to have figured that out.

The point of it all is that it sells.   When I was in New Jersey last month, I saw obscene numbers of Subway franchises.  In Kansas City, KFC is everywhere.  In New Mexico, Taco Bell is everywhere.  None of it makes sense, except that it sells.

Mc Donald's has it figured out with the special promotional items.

It's good marketing to create advertising for products that are popular figures.

The 3 (Mc Rib Mc Lobsta Shamrock Shake) have fan clubs...search parties...countdowns. People have fun with it. People outside Roadfood usually have fun with it. Don't eat it...don't drink it...don't stress. Unless you want to stress. That's no fun.

Recently posted as part of a YAHOO Finance article:
""The McRib is a product of "restructured meat technology."

Rene Arend came up with the idea and design of the McRib, but it's a professor from the University of Nebraska named Richard Mandigo who developed the "restructured meat product" that the McRib is actually made of.

According to an article from Chicago magazine, which cites a 1995 article by Mandigo, "restructured meat product" contains a mixture of tripe, heart, and scalded stomach, which is then mixed with salt and water to extract proteins from the muscle. The proteins bind all the pork trimmings together so that it can be re-molded into any specific shape — in this case, a fake slab of ribs.""

Personally the McRib is a sandwich.  I do not try to confuse it with the taste of real ribs and take it for what it is.  To me it is tasty which is nor more of a rib than a White Castle is a real hamburger.

They are sorta messy but do taste good on occasion.  I have not had one is some time but I will purchase again when the mood hits.

I've been trying to get lleechef to try a McRib, but I think she's holding out for a fried bolgona sandwich at G&R Tavern.
Or, maybe it's a steak at the Pine Club in Dayton.

I plead the fifth on pork roll vs. McRib. That's like picking my favorite child.
