Memphis BBQ wiins TV contest

I just spent an hour learning all there is to know about BBQ on the Travel Channel. They selected locations where the best BBQ is made, what it is made of and how it is cooked. I found out all about stuff a guy from NYCity had no idea existed. The show ended with a cook-off on a ranch in Calif and Memphis won (greasy & juicy) hands down. The runners-up in order were Texas, Kansas City, and last but not least---lil ol NC,y'all.

The judging was in California... do the same thing 10 times in 10 different locales, and you'd probably get 10 different outcomes. I suspect the judges voted in order of how thick and sugary the sauce was.

Old show, seen it a few times and find it interesting. I've eaten at a few of the places highlighted and as the narrator said at the end of the show, it's all subjective. Personally I like Rudy's BBQ
