I thought one of the best front-side presentations I've seen in a while is this:
http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/A-few-pics-of-Downtown-Dogs-Providence-RI-m512022.aspx Another poster said GET PICS OF THE PRODUCT ON THE MENU and this guy has it.
We actually use a dry-erase board but it's not exactly classy. The board isn't all that easy to clean and it looks kind of muddy. I really should print out nicer menus on my printer and insert them into those laminate sleeves but we've got a cultural difference here. It's changing along with our state demographic, but something about Arizona still wants to see a biker-type dude and a smile from ear to ear from a hot-dog guy and the hand-scrawled white-board menu says "authentic" and "real person" whereas to to many other folks it just says "no class".
So me, I'm soaking up examples here on the boards. I think we're learning how to reinforce the professionalism we know our industry relies upon, this stuff makes a bigger difference now than ever since we have whole new marketing methods with the internet.
If you really want to see it all come together, how modern day marketing can really help us, consult my post called "I have seen the face of God". That is what presentation looks like in the modern day.
If anyone wants to argue that point, tell us how many lifestyle and fashion magazines have covered you.
