Mexican Food in Las Vegas, Nevada

Here are my picks.
********************************************************************
Chipalas
2101 S Decatur Blvd # 1, Las Vegas - (702) 871-7805
Chapala's Mexican Restaurant - www.chapalarestaurants.com
2101 S Decatur Blvd # 1, Las Vegas - (702) 871-7805

Chapala Mexican Restaurant - www.chapalarestaurants.com
3331 E Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas - (702) 451-8141

If you don't have a lot of cash Chapala is the best. Most of their entrees are around $8-$10. Their food is very good and so is the service. My favorite their is the enchilatas suizas. They've been around for over thirty years.
********************************************************************
Ricardo's of Las Vegas
www.ricardosoflasvegas.com

4930 W Flamingo Rd
Las Vegas

They're open 24 hours. Great food. Their chips and salsa's are killer. Great bean dip and guacamole. mmmmm. I like the halibut myself. They are pricer then Chapala's but still not outragous at all.

Lindo Michoacan Mexican Rstrnt
lindomichoacancatering.com

2655 E Desert Inn Rd
Las Vegas, NV 89121
(702) 735-6828

My Third and final pick Lindo Michoacan Mexican Rstrnt
Great food. I believe they have added new location.
********************************************************************
I just want to mention that my three favorites are Italian, Mexican and Chinese.

It's been many years since I lived in Las Vegas, but I always loved Ricardo's. The margaritas are awesome and so cheap.

I know I've been to Chapala's before as well, but I don't remember much about it.

I also liked Macayo's (sp?), but I'm not sure if they're still in business.

How about Tex-Mex in LV??? I have a friend from Dallas who lives there and has trouble geting his Tex-Mex fix. He calls me for recipes so he can make it at home.

Most of what I have had in LV was California, or traditional, style Mexican food. Not that ther's anything wrong with that... but it's not Tex-Mex.

Greg, tell us more about Casa Don Juan. What's good there?

Anyone been to Aguave on W. Charlston? I hear they have tacos al pastor.

No Tex Mex in Vegas. Maybe I need to talk to the El Finix folks?

I concurr with wheregreggeats on Casa Don Juan

however I was very dissapointed in Ricardos. Stale tortilla chips and their specialty of the house, some chicken dish just didn't taste "right"

    Wanderier, thanks for the tip!

They may have learned that from those R.I. hot dog chili folks? Chili dog... chili verde, makes sense to me. :~)

Just got back from Las Vegas, and I'm sorry I didn't see this thread before I left.  Had some very good tamales at Dona Maria's on Las Vegas Blvd. just south of downtown...

It has been a long time since I was in Las Vegas as more frequent and more recent travelors will see at once when I mention the old Frontier and Stardust, both gone now, SFAIK.  Both places had Mexican restaurants and both were good, although they were not Tex-Mex which others on this thread have wished for, and which is one of my normal preferences.  I don't remember the names.

IF anyone knows, or can find out, if the people who ran either (or both) of those operations are still in the food service business I'd like to know.  I'd mark them down as places to try anyday.
