Michael Hoffman

We all know Michael had recent hip surgery and wish him the very best. Any updates on how he is doing?

Any surgery hurts.  Hip surgery is no difference.  Good luck Michael.

The only pain Michael would feel is if the person in the bed next to him was eating a big order of fried clams and Michael was on a clear liquid diet. I hope your doing well buddy.............Bill

Sorry to hear this.  Hope he gets better, hospital food sucks (I know this firsthand from my recent kidney stone issues)

However, since there's a Chef in the house, I'll bet he's getting some nice substitute meals.
Having had both knees done and plates and screws put in my back, I know how much fun rehab can be!

I'm sure you are doing well Michael with Lisa's help. Not that I thought you couldn't do it alone but as is well known, any obstacle in life is best endured with the help of a loved or caring person or partner!! Wishing you both the best!

Thanks all for your kind wishes.  It's been a crazy week and I finally got back the forums.  Michael is doing excellently .  Almost no pain, but a lot of discomfort.  The physical therapist came this morning and showed him easier ways to negotiate some things, like getting in and out of bed.  He will be switching from a walker to a cane on Thursday and says he's going to try to make it onto the computer soon!
Again, many thanks, for the kind thoughts.  You'll all be glad to know that the surgeon did not remove any of the curmudgeoness!

Please also note the proper scheduling of Michael's procedure. Purposely done post-Glee Club to allow for plenty of rest and recovery time until the next group meet-up!

I haven't looked at "off topic and lighter fare" in a while.  So I'm glad I caught this and am happy to hear that Mr Hoffman is recovering ...Lisa, take good care of him so that he can get quickly back on his feet with a full recovery so I can take him to all the wonderful coffee houses he's been missing!

You'll all be glad to know that he has already polished off that can of Boyardee ravioli.
