Michael Symon's B Spot

They just opened one in Gahanna, Ohio, and I was wondering if anyone has tried any of the ones in Cleveland and if so, what did you think?

We have to meet some family up there next weekend and were interested in trying it.

If only we could lure our Gahanna, OH correspondent out of Waffle House, perhaps we could get a review of The B Spot.

(Actually, since it's located in Gahanna, shouldn't it be called "The G Spot"? )

    We just went today.

I got the Fat Doug, which is a burger with pastrami, Swiss, mustard and coleslaw (except I got the coleslaw on the side because I don't care for the stuff), my wife got the Porky, which is a burger with pulled pork, coleslaw and BBQ sauce as well as a vanilla bean apple pie and bacon shake, we split an order of rosemary fries.

We both loved our burgers. Maybe a little much on the brown mustard, but that would be my only complaint. You can order all the way down to rare because there's about 30 percent steak in the burgers, but I ordered it medium rare and it came out perfectly pink in the middle. The flavors really worked well together on both of our burgers. I'd get the same thing again.

The Lola fries were the shoestring variety, which I like. I'm not sure what they were cooked in but it added a nice flavor. A $4 order is the perfect size for two to share. The shake, which I tried two bites of, had a real slice of apple pie in it and real bits of bacon. Good stuff.

The service initially was a hair slow, but the fries and burgers came out promptly once we got our order in.

I got a pop also, our bill was $33 and we were both stuffed. My wife couldn't finish her shake and took it to go.

Overall we were really happy. I give it an A-. We'll definitely go back when we're in the area.
